A mega-colossal company, Shinra Inc. is sucking out some of the last embers of life in a already dying planet. Building death reactors all over the world to drain the unique fossil fuel of Mako, Shinra Inc. is destroying the worlds natural environment and people.
A small rebellion group by the name of AVALANCHE resides in Shinra's capital, Midgar. Planning to thwart Shinra Inc. by bombing all of Midgar's 8 mako reactors, they hire Cloud Strife, an Ex-SOLDIER mercenary to assist Barret Wallace, the leader of AVALANCHE.
