Special Materia Locations
Magic Materia
Comet
- The comet materia is located in the Forgotten Capital. It is found
in the spiral ramp area where the fish is to unlock the door to the Forgotten
City.
Full-Cure
- The Full-Cure materia is found in Cosmo Canyon. In disk 2, if you
visit the Cosmo Canyon item store (store above ladder), enter the back
of the store and you'll find a room where you couldn't enter earlier.
There is the Full-Cure materia as well as an Elixir.
Shield
- When you are in the area where you have to tell your party members which
path to take (left or right), if you take the left path, you'll arrive
in a green area. Enter the cave in the middle and you'll be in some
sort of wetlands. Go to the next screen and go north where a green
materia is (resting on a rock).
Command Materia
Double
Cut - The Double-Cut materia is located in
the Sunken Shinra Plane (Gelnika). When you fir go inside there is
a door marked with the SHINRA logo. Enter the door and it should
be a research lab. Go down the stairs and go to the top-right corner
where the yellow materia is.
Slash
All - The Slash All materia is located in
the Ancient Forest (Gongaga area). Firstly either breed a Green,
Black, or Gold Chocobo to climb the mountains or defeat Ultimate Weapon
to creat a crater. Once inside, get past the first screen.
In the second screen, grab the beehive and feed it to the giant flower.
While the flower consumes the hive grab the yellow materia.
Mime
-
Breed a Green, Black, or Gold Chocobo and look around the Wutai Mountains
for a cave. Enter the cave and examine the yellow light.
Independant Materia
Luck
Plus - In the Temple of the Ancients maze,
make sure you're on the large stairs in the middle. Make your way
until you reach the small vines just below the purple materia.
Magic
Plus - In the Correl Valley Cave (after leaving
Forgotten Capital, where you have to climb those ladder-things) climb the
large one on the far left. Climb down and on the bottom of the ladder
pick up the purple materia.
HP<->MP
-
Breed a Black or Gold Chocobo and enter the cave in the North Corel area.
Examine the purple light.
Underwater
-
In Junon, in the tunnel just before entering the Underwater Mako Reactor,
fight in random battles until you meet a Ghost Ship. Morph the Ghost
Ship and it will turn into an item called Guide Book. Now go back
to Kalm after Diamond Weapon's death and enter the house to the right,
next to the bar. Go to the 2nd floor and talk to the man. He
will exchange for the Guide Book the Underwater materia.
Support Materia
Added
Effect - When you frst visit Cosmo Canyon
you'll have to venture into the Gi Tribe cave. After cracking the
correct rock to reveal a door in the first area, you should be in an area
with blood streams. Walk to the left path where the trap is and head
down. You should be on a ledge in the first area. Pick up the
blue materia.
Added
Cut - In the Great Glacier, look at the map
and you'll see a lot of crosspaths in the North-Eastern part of the map.
Head to that area and you'll find two paths to the left and one path to
the north (notice the face in the rock?). Proceed to the top left
path and in the second screen, search the left side of the diagonal path
for a pale blue materia.
MP
Absorb - The MP Absorb materia is located
in Wutai. Go into the item shop and open the chest. If you're
participating in Yuffie's side-quest you wil receive the materia after
completing it.
Steal
as Well - When your party is in the underwater
submarine dock, before entering the grey submarine, go to the far left
of the platform and open the chest to get the key-item Leviathan Scales.
After you get back into the world map screen, go to the Wutai Da-chao statues.
Go into the Fire Cave and you can now put out the flames there. Put
out the last flame to reveal the blue materia.
Quadra
Magic - Breed a Blue, Black, or Gold Chocobo
and search the tip of the Mideel Islands for a cave. Enter the cave
and examine the blue light.
Summon Materia
Choco/Mog
-
First time you visit the Chocobo Farm, talk to the chocobo by the fence.
The chocobos will perform a dance and you'll receive the red materia.
Titan
-
In the Gongaga Reactor, examine the area that Scarlet examined earlier.
You'll find a shiny thing. Take it and it will be a red materia.
Alexander
-
In the North-Eastern crosspaths of the Great Glacier, first of all touch
the Steaming Lakes that are on the left paths. Now head back to the
crosspaths and go north. Go into the cave and talk to the girl in
the purple robe. She'll transform into a Snow. After defeating
her she'll drop the red materia.
Leviathan
-
You will have to complete the Yuffie side-quest. After completing
it you can fight the warriors in the Pagoda of the Five Strong. After
defeating the final boss, Godo, you'll recieve the red materia from him.
Bahamut
Zero - After acquiring Bahamut and Neo Bahamut
materia, and acquiring the final blue Huge Materia, examine it in Bugenhugen's
observatory in Cosmo Canyon to recieve the red materia.
Knights
of Round - Breed a Gold Chocobo and travel
to the North-Eastern corner of the World Map. Enter the Round Island
cave and examine the red light.
